Ms. Owen is an LAAAE founding faculty member.  Prior to joining the LAAAE team in September 2005, Ms. Owen worked as associate director at The Reading Center.  She holds a dual bachelor's degree in English & Comparative Literature and Economics from Claremont McKenna College.  With six years of private teaching experience, Ms. Owen is currently pursuing her multiple subject credential from Alliant University.

Ms. Owen is from Manhattan Beach, California.  A former dancer and actress, she enjoys theater, classical dance, and improv.
