Design-Based Learning
Here is an example of our students using Design-Based Learning to create their own "ideal learning place". Facilitated by their teachers, students developed criteria for their ideal learning places. After working in teams to create their initial designs, students presented their models to their classmates, who provided feedback using the criteria as a guideline. Design-Based Learning engages students in higher-level thinking in every area of the California state standards.
