IEP / 504

Los Angeles Academy of Arts and Enterprise (LAAAE) works to identify students who do not have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), but may be in need of a pre-referral intervention plan. Students who may be in need of special education services may be screened from already available data regarding the student’s progress or lack thereof within the general education program. Students who do not appropriately respond to Response to Instruction and Intervention may be referred to a formal special education assessment. LAAAE may also refer a student for services through the provisions of a Section 504 Plan, if more appropriate. Parents may also request a referral for an evaluation.

IEPs are annually reviewed to determine a student’s progress toward meeting goals. Every three years, students undergo a triennial evaluation to determine continued eligibility for special education services.
